Portage Description:
This is actually two portages, one from Jasper to Kingfisher and then from Kingfisher to Ogishkemuncie. There are no campsites on Kingfisher and it is a very small lake. The 25 rods from Jasper are level and smooth. The ends are sometimes marshy in high water. The 38 rods from Kingfisher to Ogishkemuncie are easy, although there is a slight downhill grade at the end which can be slick in wet weather. Canoe access is limited at all ends except the Ogishkemuncie end which allows two or three canoes to load or unload at the same time. There is some deadfall on the Ogishkemuncie end, but it is easily negotiated.

Lake after portage: Ogishkemuncie
Known campsites: 8+
Lake Description:

Jasper is a pleasant lake with a number of sites. Kingfisher has no sites. Ogishkemuncie is a long, narrow lake with a channel halfway down connecting the northeast portion with the southwest portion. There are many good sites on this lake, but it is quite popular as it offers the paddler options to go on several different routes when leaving it.
