Recipes for the Boundary Waters and Quetico


Sausage & Hominy

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 pckg. (1.5#) of link sausage (we prefer Beef)
  • 1 lg. can of hominy (yellow or white)
  • 1 med. onion (optional)
  • salt & pepper to taste

Cooking instructions:
Cut links into bite size portions and brown. Remove sausage and drain off all but about 2 TBS. of oil. Add hominy and onion to pan and lightly brown. Add sausage back to pan and mix well. Prep time about 20 min.

Add some diced (drained) tomatoes or Rotel tomatoes.

A great quick breakfast or dinner. 1 pan to cook with plus serving bowls. Note: I won't tell if you eat it out of the skillet, saves cleanup time.
