Thanks I read about the "Death March Portage" and I think maybe I'll be taking entry point 42 and come in through Minn Lake instead.

Speaking of "live bait". Last year when I was fishing on the north side of Coleman Island I was trolling, actually it was a traveling day for us to, so our main priority wasn't fishing. But, it never hurts to drop a line. I thought that I had a tug on my line and when I started to real it up I didn't think that there was anything on there. But, all of a sudden there a was another hit. Apparently I had my line pretty far out as it took a while to get him realed into the boat. There was the meanest female northern I'd ever seen. It had grabbed hold of the 12 incher that took my lure. I netted them both. She wasn't going to let go! Anyhow, it was a nice 36 incher.
