Skip: Thanks for carrying this thread back up to the top. It needed some breathing room, as it had apparently become the longest discussion thread so far on this board. I'd been thinking about doing it for a couple of days because the latest messages were almost off my screen, too. I'm committed to barbless fishing after hearing of your experience and that of others. It sounds pretty easy to modify hooks to a barbless state, and if I'm not going to lose too many fish, why the heck not. Add to that the fact that it's going to help protect the released fish from any more harm than need be, AND it's going to make hook removal so much quicker and easier for me. Sounds like a "no brainer."
I've tried to get my partner to join these discussions, but so far, without success. I suppose I'm fortunate in that my partner doesn't seem to bring such bad luck to me. However, he does seem to bring other, nonredeeming liabilities to our wilderness excursions. Do you suppose I could goad him out to defend himself? He's probably not listening. ...Tom Posted by Tom Swulius on March 04, 2000 at 01:20 In reply to: re' DEET and Barbless Fishing posted by Skip Guyer on March 03, 2000 at 20:35 |
