I have just about every kind of commercial waterproof pack and drybag made. This may sound crazy, but I have switched to using almost exclusively ,5 gallon buckets with their snap on lids. I still put everything inside a ziplock first, since the buckets are not totally waterproof. They cost almost nothing, they will float long enough for you to retrieve them, the handle makes them very easy to carry down the portage trail or hang over head, and they make a great place to park your butt when you have no place to sit. I still use one large waterproof backpack for my sleeping bag, pad and pillow. Too bulky for a bucket, and I want them to stay totally dry. Don D.
