We also had a simular experience. We camped on Rawn on the island across from the Art Lake creek entrance on the west side. The ranger at Dawson CG said that we probably wouldn't run into any other parties down there. Ya know, he was right. Probably because there was NO Fish, NO firewood, Black Flies everywhere and, whoever said that bears wouldn't bother to swim 1.5 miles to food was dead wrong. We re-named the lake to "wrong Lake". Do yourself a favor and stick west of Pickeral.
