Thanks Fred Bear for the information. It seems that whenever a place becomes easy to get to, the trash follows. We're familiar with the BWCA and may go instead that that area. I'm 72 now and the portages seem to get tougher each year, so we were looking for a paddle only trip. At any rate, we realy appreciate your warning - you've probally saved us from a great disappointment.
