Re: Lake Namakan

Bill: I hate to do this but my conscious compels me to reply before you make a huge mistake. Being from northern MN and very near Kabetogama, Namakan and the Ash River I am going to be blatantly honest with you. Around here the Ash River is commonly referred to as the "A**" River and for good reason. You would not believe the filth and riff-raff that congeals in and around that cesspool. Namakan is nice and has nice islands in which to hop but the boat traffic on any given summer day is, well, not my idea of a paddling vacation. If your going to make the trip to northern MN, I would be happy to suggest alternative routes. But, you know what your looking for so don't let me disuade you.

As far as maps go, you should be able to get a McKenzie or Fisher map via thier respective websites.
