We always camp in Quetico too. But I thought you could paddle on the canadian side on border lakes. I was under the impressiion that because of large border lakes and not being able to determine the exact location of the boundry line this was allowed. However on my first trip to Quetico we were on Bayley Bay (Basswood Lake) almost to Inlet Bay and a Canadian Ranger stop us. Went thru all of our paper work as well as 2 packs. The one thing that I was thinking of thru all of this going on was. Why were they in a motorized boat. Even if they were in an area which they were allow. So back at Prairie we ask a few questions just to make sure they were who they were. Sure enough they were.
Any way I'm interested in knowing what is and isn't allowed on the border lakes.
