Entry #s 20 & 21 to Angleworm |
Boundary Waters portages Posted by: Cyclone Season/Year: Summer 97 Water Level: average Length: 640 rods Rating: difficult | Additional Perspectives: Janet Pax |
Portage Description:
Difficult primarily due to length. It has some ups and downs but is quite a scenic hike. I've portaged it three times (once solo) and found the challenge worthwhile. The boardwalks were a little shaky but there are few real wet areas.
Lake after portage: Angleworm
Known campsites: 4
Lake Description:
A long, thin lake, Angleworm is almost a river and can be fished as such. Throw yellow-tailed spinners at downed trees for walleye. Weed beds hold small-average pike.
