Kekekabic to Strup

Boundary Waters portages
Posted by: Mike Schmieg
Season/Year: Summer 99
Water Level: high
Length: 85 rods
Rating: difficult
Additional Perspectives:

Portage Description:
This portage is rated difficult only because of the steep climb out of Kekekabic Lake. This climb takes most of the 85 rods and has a few places where one must climb under deadfall, a trick with the canoe on your back. This condition may have been worsened or improved after the July 4, 1999, storm, but we were there the week before the storm.

Lake after portage: Strup
Known campsites: not sure
Lake Description:

Strup is an open lake that leads to a series of smaller lakes down to the Kawishiwi River.
