Portage Description:
Trail drops considerably from Brule to Vernon, maybe 100 feet in elevation. Much, much more difficult to go from Vernon to Brule. There were a couple very steep and rocky areas, but overall the portage was not bad.

Lake after portage: Vernon
Known campsites: not sure
Lake Description:

Check you the campsite closest to the portage. An incredible rock livewell has been built at the mouth of a feeder creek. Great fishing off the reeds on the east end of the lake and we got to see a moose cow three days in a row there.
