Portage Description:
From a rocky landing on the Caribou Lake side, the portage starts with a pretty steep uphill portion, with reasonably good footing. It then levels out for a while before reaching Deer Lake. The landing on the Deer Lake side is easy to negotiate and there is plenty of room for staging gear and canoes.
