Portage Description:
Portage has a reasonably good path that climbs for about 50 rods. It then has a steeper section of about 10 rods and then flattens out to the last 10 rods. There it descends steeply to the lake. The lake side is shallow, but sandy.

Lake Description:
Little Gabbro is a relatively shallow lake of about 150 acres. The channel to the east provides access to Gabbro and Bald Eagle.
