Portage Description:
Path climbs steadily for the first 60 rods then levels off pretty much the next 80 rods. It then descends gradually to Turtle. Path is not traveled much and is rocky and muddy in spots. About 2/3 the way across is a muddy section of about 5 rods that can't be avoided. The Turtle side of the portage is a muddy mess that is difficult to get loaded and under way.
