Portage Description:
Did this portage from Dark into Iron as part of a route from Stuart Lake into Iron then up to LLX. Was a good portage route. Trail is not heavily used but was in good condition. On the flat area in the middle of the portage is one of the largest blueberry patches I have ever seen in the wild. It was about 1 acre in size in an open meadow. It was the last week in July and we picked about 2 quarts of berries in about 20 minutes before we went on to find a campsite on Iron. Nice bonus! Lots of blueberry pancakes the next morning.
