Portage Description:
#1 Quadga to Isabella River -- 99 rods -- easy -- Rocky landing at Quadga with a short climb from the lake. Near the top of the hill there is a windfall which forces you to drop the canoe and slide it under the windfall. From the intersection it is downhill and muddy to the good landing at the river.

#2 35 rods -- easy -- Not much to this one. Good landings and decent trail.

#3 8 rods -- easy -- Nothing to it. Rapids are safe to run if you want to bypass the portage.

#4 141 rods -- average -- In high water you have to work to get out of the current and over to this landing. A safer and easier option is to land just upstream at the campsite (not marked on McKenzie) This is a great place to stop for lunch with a awesome overlook of the river. From the campsite take the trail to the latrine. The trail continues downhill 5 rods and hooks up with the portage. The portage then climbs uphill for 30 rods where it then continues on a nice path slightly downhill to a good landing at Bald Eagle. About 20 rods from Bald Eagle there is a spring that is good for a nice cold drink after finishing the portage.
