Portage Description:
The portage landing is easy to find. The trail is obvious, going up and over a little, open knoll. 4 rods up and 4 rods back down.

Lake Description:
Slate is a fairly small lake, and seems popular with base-camping fishermen. I saw several very nice campsites on it, but most were occupied when I passed through.
