Portage Description:
This portage was almost entirely downhill, with a particularly steep portion at the end that we opted to slide/hand the canoe down as the footing was so difficult overhead portaging would have been dangerous. This is the second leg of a shortcut from That Man Lake to Emerald, via the unnamed lake (a.k.a. 'High Man'). This shortcut consists of two very challenging portages, but is worth it if you're pressed for time.

Lake Description:
Emerald lake is a large, lesser traveled lake. Portions of its northern shore and one island are recovering from fire, but the rest of the lake is undamaged.
