Portage Description:
Portage is at NW end of Gardner Bay. Difficult to locate. The portage leads to small unnamed lake. Cross lake to a second 10 rod portage which leads to top of huge beaver dam. After you paddle about 30 rods you will see Elk Lake. You have to drag over a shallow area to enter Elk. Elk has two decent campsites and excellent Smallmouth fishing.

Lake Description:

A deep clear lake, has lake trout, smallmouth, and northern pike. It also has a big snapping turtle that is quite friendly.
