Portage Description:
It's all uphill and seemed more like 80 rods. To add to the difficulty the trail veers off to the left and down a 45 degree rock face to the Shelly Lake landing.

Lake Description:
The west side seemed like it was recovering from a fire or wind storm. There are dead and fallen trees all around.
