Portage Description:
The portage is about 50 yards south of the "creek" shown on the maps. '03 was a dry year--there was no creek. We finally found the portage because someone had tied a piece of red ribbon to a branch--the entrance is very hard to find and the trail looks like it dead ends in a cliff face--it doesn't--the trail angles up a steep switchback. Once you get up the cliff the portage is very pretty--park-like under big pines.

Lake Description:
A small "alpine" lake. Someone has camped on the east side at the portage entry--there was a fire ring.
