Nothing quiet about where we are! We watched our Spartans pull out a fabulous win in the HUGE AT&T Stadium at the Cotton Bowl Classic, beating the Baylor Bears! Lots of noise from the Green and White, who were very much outnumber in the stands, and had to quiet the roar of the Bears with a surprise ending!
We fly home from Texas this afternoon to resume our normal life.
Wishing a very Happy New Year to all and happy paddling in 2015. The Spartans.

It has been awful quiet here for a bit...much like the wilderness. Sometimes it's good to just be quiet. Winter has just started, but remember - after last Sunday the days are getting longer. It's just so many days until that next trip starts!
Merry Christmas all.

PJ is right. In my experience, the site stays fairly quiet at this time of year. The time to secure park permits begins in a few weeks, though, and folks start planning trips & get to talking. CanoeCopia chatter will also begin to build.
It's a fairly typical pattern, I'd say.
Happy Holidays, by the way....

Is it the silence ? I've never seen this site so dead for so long. ...
Some people can suck the air right out of it. It is b/t Thanksgiving and Christmas - It's quiet everywhere. Come 12/26 we'll all be reading about ______ Xmas gifts.

My theory is that it's been the warm weather up here that has kept all of us outside until mid-November...when things seem to freeze solid overnight...then the holidays hit...the Fall has flown by...now we are into Christmas. Coffee is key at times like these (the stronger the better)
