I guess I didn't explain very well so I'm going to answer publicly...

That's interesting... what you did was trace yourself. (I think - If those results are intermittent, as in sometimes those last hops don't time out I'd inform comcast. I don't think those last 4 hops should time out.)

Anyway, you need to type quietjourney.com into the box. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links).

Wherever there are time outs is where routing problems lie.

Timing is everything and SPAM makes the internet go 'round and 'round...

Just a thought - can anyone here read Russian? I'm totally serious. The Google, babelfish translations are pretty much useless on spammer slang.

P.S. - I'm starting to appreciate obfuscated code yet I'd rather just paddle.

So I took a peek at your tracks from yesterday.

Looks like the first page you looked at took nearly two minutes to fully load. I don't blame you at all for getting frustrated on that one. There were some other very odd anomalies that make absolutely no sense to me. You looked at like what, 6 pages?

IMO - When I click on a link in this site, I expect the page requested to instantly appear unless I know it's a time intensive page. Patience is usually required on those. Such is life.
After 1 second of waiting, I might blink.
After 2 seconds, I may make a face.
After 4 seconds, OK, yup, I'm a little annoyed now.
After 8 seconds I'm a bit pissed considering what I pay at both ends.
After 16 seconds I'll try to find something more interesting.
After 32 seconds, I'll consider calling because it may be repeatable after touchtone hell and (the usual stuff) - IF and when my timing is absolutely perfect and I expect my experience will be easily reproducible.

IMCO - I know this server better than I'd like to. What I don't know is what sort of virus protection you're running not to mention when it was last updated or run. Considering your tracks, that would be where I'd suggest you take a good look.

If everyone chimed in and agreed things were slow, well, now there's something I could point to and perhaps do something about. It is slower than I'd like to see but all I can truly fine tune to my liking at the moment is the master on/off switch on a somewhat individual basis. The things I can't control seem a bit better today than yesterday... Everyone's mileage may vary a little bit. Yours, I expect, is way outside the norm unless a bunch of people chime in to tell me otherwise.

I have the newest Norton Edition....just renewed it, yesterday, but the problems were started a couple of weeks ago.
Now it takes 2 minutes to do anything.....sign on, check the POD, change from page to page.......Oh! now I don't get the POD....just a box telling me what I'm missing.
If it works this way for everyone with Norton Anti-Virus, you guys are in trouble!
I will not be visiting much anymore, too frustrating Undecided I'll check in once in a while to see if you have it fixed!
Don't expect a contribution from me  Cry
For now I'm done!

I don't think I have ever had a slow connection since the new server took over.  Sometimes the lunch hour is a little slower but nothing to make me leave the site - I just figure everyone else up here is using the ISP at the same time choking the tunnel up a bit.  I just installed Norton's 2006 at both home and office and it hasn't effected my internet - (the email is another story however).

While this particular forum is the least read and while anyone with the a similar problem may not want to take the same two minutes to post when e-mail would be soooooo much faster...

This site is not as fast as it use to be with the new server for the time intensive stuff I do more than a few times a day - I'll agree w/ anyone on that but is anyone experiencing any greater problems than I stated above to simply view or post a reply?

No need to reply if it's acceptable to you. I know what the usual traffic load adds up to on a daily basis any day of the week.
