well, I'll go with redhorse...I catch a few whitefish every winter while crappie fishing, and I've been known to net a few "whitefish" or "tulibees"....smoke em, pickle em or fry em {whitefish} ..good eats Grin.....on the other hand, I figgured "plastic" salad dressing bottle, as I do enjoy a fresh salad for as many nights as I can untill "skunk cabbage" forms ,... but I figgured no one would use anything other than an alum. canoe for a picnic table, which also makes a good surface for setting the camp stove upon Shocked...Prouboy: hats off to you for knowing what a canoe is really for Wink

I think Whitefish or Tulibee.  Doesn't Redhorse have a wider, sucker-like head?  And maybe smoother sucker-like skin ?

RE: Bottle of Dressing, if it is glass it would be a bad idea.  But I also take a big bottle of dressing for a group trip.  I have never considered I had to re-package salad dressing which was in plastic already.  In a group you would use a whole bottle eventually and would be way less garbage than using packets of dressing.  Packets or those little plastic tubs with foil cover work good for one or two paddlers.

Since all the POD images are inaccessible until next year I attached the fish in question.

I i looked it the other version I have was any help - noticed the photographer added "Caption for the fish photo: shorthead redhorse" I knew I got that name from somewhere. Wouldn't know myself.

Another great picture Riversend. You are one lucky dude to be 'running with the pack'.

Happy New Years everyone.
