Caught this 47" pike on my most recent trip to the Q.  Estimated weight is 30# (it bottomed out my scale so I had to use the length calculation to arrive at that figure).

Old Salt had to really struggle to fit the whole fish in the photo. That's the largest northern I've ever witnessed caught. Truly the fish of a lifetime. Nice job, Snowdog! BTW, it only took 1/2 hour or so to land her.

Any guesses as to the magic bait? It wasn't one of the 'standard' pike lures.

My school group fished on Ensign - northwest bay - caught ~ 50 pike, 10 bass, 2 walleye, 1 perch in 3 days with rapalas and spoons.   Wink
