Portage Description:
Three easy portages here. The first two are on the right and the last is on the left. You can also plan on getting out for pull overs/throughs at least 2-3 times between Horse and the first portage, and at least once between the first and second portage. Overall, the trip to the falls is well worth it and not that hard--just needs some patience. If water is low--could be several hundered yards of muck after the 3rd portage as you get up towards the falls. I've been up here 3 times with my spouse and we always joke about it being the "divorce river", if that tells you something. I don't know why she won't listen to me? We hit almost every rock in the river!. The scenery between the first and third portages is absolutly stunning.

Lake Description:

Many campsites at the falls on Canadian (Quetico) and US side. Definately take your pics and enjoy the scenery from the Canadian portage. Theres a large rock thats perfect for a knapp or lunch hanging out over the first drop. The Canadian landing at the falls is a nice sandy beach that perfect for cooling off. Many Walleye below the falls, some good campsites here too. Get some good pics here!
