Portage Description:
The portage starts on the left side in the back of the bay off of Kenny lake. Paddle as far back in the reeds as you can and you can't miss the portage landing. The first half of the portage was very buggy down through the valley. The second half of the portage starts with a long climb to the top of the ridge then a nice walk up on top till you descend down a easy trail into a bay on McEwen lake. We did this on a daytrip. Going through the falls chain to Kenny and then back this portage. If I were traveling through and wanted to travel from Kenny to McEwen I would definitely go this route instead of the Falls chain. It's a long portage but easier than doing the 3 through the Falls chain.

Lake after portage: McEwen
Known campsites: not sure
Lake Description:

McEwen is a great fishing lake. Everyone says its a popular lake but we had it to ourselves for the whole week the last week on June 2004. The lake is full of nice smallies, caught lakers and northerns but no walleyes.
