I talked to a group this Spring who went into the west end of Emerald from the east end of Carp, then down through Plough and on into Knife. Your idea of dropping down into Emerald from This Man is interesting. My McKenzie map and the map that came with Beymer's "A Paddler's Guide to Quetico Provincial Park" don't show any portage trails, though. How well do you and your partner like bushwhacking?
