You folks have been so helpful that I thought I'd try asking another question.

I would like to go to about the middle of the Man Chain and then drop down into Emerald. My available maps do not show any portages there, but there are a number of small lakes and creeks between This Man and Emerald that hint that a route may exist. One possible route might be from Cheaton Bay to Amik Lake to Littlerock to Plough to Emerald. There are also some un-named lakes and creeks southwest of there.

I am ordering some topo maps that should help clarify the terrain, but even they won't show everything. I know there are a lot of un-mapped portages out there. Does any one know if such a connection can be made?
