I have 2 favorites: My first campsite on my first trip: on the south side of the narrows in Carp Lake. First night out throwing Zara spooks; 2nd cast: 3-4# smallmouth. Had the bank to myself till then, standing room only after that. We all caught good fish (except one guy, poor fellow). Last night out: caught walleye on Zara spooks (don't blame you if you don't believe me, but I have witnesses and pictures). Second day out: deposited the leavings of fish cleaning on the little hump just west of the campsite: eagle came and took them. Flew right over my head. I can still hear the wings. 2nd favorite: campsite on Lost Bay, north side the end of the entry channel. Great bank fishing again. Plateau shelf for tents and cooking, easy access to water, poor to fair parking for boats, but you can't always have everything. Best memory is the lifting of the fog one morning. a flock of mergansers swam past within camera range as did a flock of loons (is flock the correct word for a group of loons?) - got the pictures. Also got a picture of a loon eating a keeper bluegill not 5 feet from the bow of my canoe. Still don't think the loon knew I was there (I can be quiet if I must). Best part of the best memory is the picture I have of the little island west of the campsite appearing through the fog: incredible sight.
