Walleyes on SPOOKS.......................

An outfitter carrying us in on a fast launch one time, gave us walleye fishing tips. He said take a pound of leaches and one hook, leave the bass tackle behind. Then he told us to fish on the bottom as slow as possible, and just when we think we're fishing slow enough, slow it down even more!

I'm sure it was good advice but we had fun when he returned to pick us up. Had to tell him about the nice walleye we caught on a buzzbait in the middle of the day. He looked at us long and hard then said the fish must have had brain damage.........

What time of the year did you catch them on SPOOKS?

I've been to Lost Bay (7 years ago)and had the most incredible smallmouth fishing one day in early June. We caught about 10 in the 3 - 4 pound range on Yamamoto jigs. Many came off the beds (you could see them, then just drop the lure in the bed). Also saw a bull moose swim across the narrows, he had about a zillion bugs flying around him.

My first trip was with the Boy Scouts 30 years ago, our first night campsite was on the rock point(east side) at the entrance to Lost Bay. Always wanted to go back to Quetico and finally made it back 7 years ago. Since then I've been trying to make up for lost time.
