In 1996 I took a trip with two other guy's. They in one canoe myself in a solo. I have always wanted to do a solo trip. But wasn't sure I would enjoy a week by myself. Afraid I might get used to talking to myself I guess. So I thought that this might give me a samplew of what to expect. I had a great time and was amazed at how much faster I could travell by myself. I did paddle away from them during the day, but camped with them at night. I found myself wanting to talk to them about the events of the day. So now I'm not sure if I would like a solo trip or not. I talked to an outfitter about it, and his remark was that you have to be very comfortable with yourself to enjoy the trip. I never really thought about how I would react being alone. I was more worried if I had a problem arise, or get hurt. I would be interested in learning from others. About the do's and don'ts of solo canoeing. As well as what you do to keep yourself company.
