We are taking two crews of Scouts and adults to Quetico during late July / early August out of Somers Canoe Base on Moose Lake for 8 days on the water. One crew's entry point is Carp Lake. Since no one in our party has been in this area, we are looking for advice on good fishing opportunities, portages, routes, etc. Somers provides a guide, but we have some input to our route. We were thinking of Prairie Portage - Birch - Carp - That Man - This Man - Emerald - Plough - Otterback - Knife and return. We don't think we're up to the loop to Slate and Lilypad. How busy is Knife Lake? Is there actually a portage from That Man to Emerald? Good fishing and fun are more important than miles on this trip. Any ideas out there??? P.S. I've searched this entire forum and already have all of that info. (You're right the next entry is similar.) Posted by KsCanoeist on May 25, 2001 at 19:38 |
