Just got back from Quetico. Plannned on spending several weeks but couldnt stand the flies anymore (since when do black flies bite through clothing??). I never thought I would here myself say that. It was Blueberry Island that sealed the deal. After swearing and cursing about all the human waste strewn around the island and being chased by flies I had enough. I have run out of food before (having too good of a time) but never bug spray. I located my tent on the most exposed area I could find and STILL THEY ATTACKED. I dont know who Im mad at more the people for not burying waste (even dogs do it) or the black flies. I know I wished many times for black flies to talk because I wished to here them scream as I squished them. Are the flies there because of the waste??
