Portage Description:
The portage trail is on the West (left) side of the stream, just as shown on the Fischer map. It follows the creek at a reasonable distance up the side hill... at first. The second half descends down close to the creek and can be very muddy. Spooked a big bull moose at about the middle of the portage (or shall I say he spooked me?). With a snort he was gone.

Lake Description:
Nondescript. Long, narrow, shallow. Little more than a very big beaver pond.
