Portage Description:
Going from Horse Lake up the Horse River into Lower Basswood Falls there are 3 regular portages of 50 rods, 50 rods and 75 rods. All are pretty easy. The only problem this trip was the low water level forcing some extra maneuvering in 3 or 4 places. Allow a little extra time.

Basswood Falls was beautiful but very busy!
