Portage Description:
River level was low in late July so came in by alternate route: via 640 rod hiking trail (EP #76). We hit bottom several times in both sections of the river on the way out from the lake! I enjoyed the portage. The trail along the rock ledge wakes you up!
Lake after portage: Big Moose
Known campsites: 5
Lake Description:
20 mph west wind limited our fishing to east side. I got a limit of smallies in the 4 1/2 hours we were there (daytrip), also a 2 lb. walleye and two other big ones got away.
