Portage Description:
Going in it seems hard, coming out a week later it seems easy. Mostly dry, sometimes pretty "buggy". You climb at first on both ends, but it levels out for the most part. You have a couple of going-downs and coming-ups but nothing very difficult. After rainstorms the bottoms can be wet.
Lake after portage: Batchewaung
Known campsites: 8+
Lake Description:
Batchewaung has two parts connected by a narrows on the west side. There are sparse pickings for campsites west of the portage but are several if you go east. There are two campsites on the big island between the portage and the narrows. There is a nice campsite on the point as you enter the narrows from the north. Fishing is excellent. A big, deep lake trout hole between the islands and that point.
