Portage Description:
The landing here is the tricky part, just a narrow area surrounded by steep smooth rocks. Tough place if you trying to baby your kevlar canoe. Others have mentioned a better landing further down from the falls, but I found this trail choked with small brush although the landing area is a little better. We choose to unload by the waterfalls. The portage is easy after the initial short steep section.

Campsites are at a premium in the area and there is a good site just off of the portage entrance on the Quetico Lake side if you just need a quick overnighter.

Lake Description:
Conk Lake - supposed to be good fishing for SM Bass and Walleye, but we didn't have any luck. It is a very scenic little lake.
