Portage Description:
Scenic as it follows the tumbling creek downhill. Portage fishing gear first. We picked up a walleye, a northern and a bass where the creek enters Sturgeon lake. We also caught bass in the shallow pool at the top of the portage.

Lake Description:
This area of Sturgeon lake eastward through the Sturgeon Narrows would make a great place for a 4 day base camp. There are some nice campsites not shown on the maps. There is a degree of solitude and the area is senic.
