Additional Perspectives:
Portage Description: Very overgrown. First bad spot met was a blessedly short but very soft boot-napping boggy stretch (thank God there'd been little recent rain). A fallen tree barrier was then followed by rock terraces that would have been a tough step up even with no load, symmetrical with some later tough steps down. With more fallen timber in between. First man through picked up about 20 ticks. After this one -- the first real portage of our trip -- all the rest seemed easy. Lake after portage: Minn Known campsites: not sure Lake Description: Very good site (unmarked on Fisher map) on prominent peninsula on east side about 500 meters south of Darky River mouth.
