Portage Description:
McAlpine Creek was pretty low due to the beaver dam about 1 km up. Portage around beaver dam (5m) and paddle to portage. It had been raining that morning so the portage was muddy and the exposed rocks were somewhat slippery. There is a slight climb at the beginning then past an old dam. The rest is downhill to the put-in. The put-in is rocky and slippery but not overly difficult.
Lake after portage: Kasakokwog
Known campsites: 4
Lake Description:
Kasakokwog Lake is a pretty lake. We camped on a point about 3/4 of the way down the lake. The walleye fishing was excellent.
