Dave do you have a fish locator on a boat now? I take my Eagle Ultra with me when I go to Quetico. I just take the transducer off the boat, fasten a suction cup (bought from local hardware store) to it, and run it with two 6V lantern batteries. I've made 5 trips up there and taken the locator on 4 of them. I didn't take it the last time and was sorry I didn't. If you don't have a locator already, I have heard good things about the fishing buddy.
