Re: Trip to Quetico

Quetico Fan is right about planning some layover days. Only you can plan your trip, but there are some things that you need to consider. How far are you driving to get there? You may want to hit the southern tier of entry points if you have far to go. As far as solitude goes, on a longer trip like you are planning, that shouldn't be a problem. The deeper into the interior you go, the fewer people there will be. I would strongly recommend that you purchase "A Paddler's Guide To Quetico Provincial Park" by Robert Beymer and then purchase a map of the entire park. Beymer writes about many routes in the Quetico, but the value of his book is his attention to details about different things to see. For instance, Louisa Falls where there is a natural Jacuzzi built in for you to enjoy, or pictographs for you to picture and contemplate what the people who drew them were thinking about. Anyway, read about some of those things, decide what would interest you and plan accordingly. For a 14 day trip, there are no limitations on your route. You could probably hit anyplace in the park in that length of time. So get the map, get the book and have fun anticipating and planning.
