Portage Description:
The 180 rod distance of this portage comes in three sections (10, 140, 30 rods respectively) along a creek that empties from Fourtown into Mudro. The 10 rod section is perhaps the most difficult, unless you know the trick (paddle or walk the boat up the little chute on the left, in order to avoid a very steep landing and vertical scramble). The 140 rod section runs along a rocky ridge above the creek, but it's not too hard as long as you keep an eye on your footing. The 30 rod section was half under water but not too bad for all that.
