Portage Description:
Had just watched a wolf while crossing John Lake skiing into a stiff cold wind. We tried to ski the portage pulling our sleds and had way too much difficulty. Ended up putting on snow shoes and tieing the skiis to the packs. Beautiful timber but slippery on both ends. Use caution to avoid injury.
