Portage Description: This would be average were it not for length and ugly landing on steep, bare rock at Gull. From home, it's quick uphill (go straight thru 4-way crossing w/A-worm Trail) then it's all downhill. Footing pretty good all the way. 240 rods seems right. Some maps show spur to landing at southwest bay of Gull. Not so. Landing is on west shore of Gull. if you're bushed at landing, stop atop large rock and slide canoe down. Don't risk a tumble Lake after portage: Gull Known campsites: 3 Lake Description: Tannic, generally shallow but shield-esque with steep rock drop-offs to 7ft. some weeds. Contrary to some books, walleyes and smallies present with northern. Easternmost campsite is awesome (at least 2 good pads) but exposed to wind. In low water, long rock peninsula a bonus. Family of otters in weedy bay to north. Good picnic clearing past latrine w/some blueberries Portage from Gull into: Gun Pietro Thunder
