Portage Description: We did not use the portage. If you go to the left of the rapids you can just lift over two flat rocky areas and then walk the canoe through a few feet of shallow water. You can also go around the other side (west) of the island and just lift over one line of rocks. The west side of the island can be kind of shallow so you might end a walking the canoe a little more. Lake after portage: Bald Eagle Known campsites: 8+ Lake Description: Big lake that is NO fun if it is windy. Some very nice campsites on the northwest end. One has a very nice beach. There is also a campsite at the very tip of the small point at the northwest end of the lake (just down from the other three campsites) that is not marked on McKenzie Maps Portage from Bald Eagle into: Turtle Gull Entry #84 (via Snake River)
