Portage Description:
If you made the portage from Seagull to Grandpa be prepared for more of the same. The first 100 steps of this portage are almost straight up. It is very rugged with many steps from rock to rock going up and down. There is a long, deep, muddy slough in the middle. We found it easier to put the canoe down and long line it through this slough than to attempt another carry (lessons learned from the Grandpa portage). At the end there is about a hundred yards of large ankle twisting rock field that makes reaching the shore of Roy Lake very challenging. Take your time and pick your way through this section slowly and carefully. This is a portage you may want to break out the hiking boots for. It is a difficult portage but well worth the reward at the end.

Lake after portage: Roy
Known campsites: None at all
Lake Description:

Roy Lake is gorgeous. You will be rewarded for the hard portages by a remote lake that you will more than likely have all to yourself.
